Planned System Maintenance Thursday August 28, 2014 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM

Wether it’s a Windows PC, an Apple device or even a blue ray player, most devices now a’days eventually need a health check and a software update. The same applies to the nifty equipment we use to provide Internet and telephone to you. The time has come again to perform some standard maintenance on our equipment. As usual we reserve this type of work during off-hours so it has the least amount of impact on our subscribers.

We will be performing planned system maintenance early Thursday morning which will impact both Allband Communications Cooperative and Allband Multimedia Phone and Internet customers. Maintenance will take place tomorrow (Thursday August 28th) between 12 AM and 6 AM EST. While the maintenance is being performed, Internet and Phone service may be intermittent.

Please feel free to contact the office 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (989) 369-9999 with any questions or concerns you may have.

Please note: if your Internet is not working when you wake up, don’t fret! Try power-cycling your router first (unplug the power cable from the router, wait 10 seconds and plug it back it in). DO NOT hit or hold down the Reset button, this is a big NO NO and we will have to re-provision the settings in the router. If that doesn’t work, give us a call so we can help.

Thank you Carl Travis for your feedback!

We received the below email from Mr. Travis.  Carl…we greatly appreciate the feedback!  Thank you for being a valued customer.

“I want to thank Trevor for the help in getting the glitches in my computer taken care of so I can connect back on to the internet. I would also like to thank Ron Siegel and all of the staff at Allband MultiMedia for bringing High speed Broadband internet to the Mikado area. They are looking to expand in the area and are making the efforts to do so. One thing I really appreciate about Allband is how they have been upfront about their progress, and even about the occasional setbacks and roadblocks that they’ve encountered in bringing Broadband to the northeast Michigan area. Thank you for what you’ve done, and for what you want to do to help this area move forward technologically. I look forward to seeing all you want to accomplish here.”
Sincerely Yours
Carl Travis
Mikado, Mi.

Service Outage 02-20-14

Allband is currently experiencing a service outage that is impacting both Internet and telephone connectivity. Your service may be intermittent at this time. The cause of the outage is related to wide-spread power issues from the inclement weather we are experiencing in the region. We hope to have services stabilized as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Ray and Carla Brimm Spotlight (testimonial)

Ray Brimm is a respected security specialist for Mitchell Township Citizens Watch in Curran, Michigan. Ray takes this position very seriously, and uses cutting edge security technology both personally and professionally. The Brimm’s have multiple internet based cameras located on his properties which covers a monitoring area of 60 of his 80 total acres of land and two houses. Allband helped make this possible by furnishing two access points, thereby increasing the Wi-Fi coverage area.

The best part is that the IP based (internet based) cameras were very easy and simple to install and set up. Ray uses Belkin NetCam Wi-Fi cameras with night vision that can be monitored from a computer or smart phone anywhere he goes. The cameras are also equipped with motion activation that can take video or pictures when motion is detected and send them to your smart phone to notify him of a possible intrusion, or even to track animals moving across his property.

Carla Brimm works from home as a system analyst for the Publicist Groupe, and she is on call most of the time and serves a multitude of companies in several different areas of IT management. She has been working for the company for the past 16 years, and she was unable to do so from Curran, MI until they had Allband high-speed internet at their residence. Carla enjoys the fact that with her well-connected wireless property, she can be fixing a server and deer hunting at the same time! Having fiber optic internet to the home has allowed her to stay at their Curran residence giving her more time with her husband Ray and saving her time and money traveling to and from the Metro Detroit office.

Jim and Jo Taylor Spotlight (testimonial)

Jim Taylor has worked as an insurance adjuster out of his home in Long Rapids, Michigan since approximately 1998. The duties of Mr. Taylor’s position entails daily downloads including photos and large data reports as well as uploads of photos and data to complete his reporting requirements. Completing his reports at the end of the day without any major technical glitches or downtime makes his day a whole lot easier and saves him loads of time. His wife, Jo Taylor is a medical transcriptionist and the quality of service of the internet connection is directly proportional to the productivity in her career as it relies 100% on the internet connection for 100% of the duties of the position. Since the Taylor’s have had Allband high-speed internet they have both noticed a dramatic improvement in the productivity and output of their work, reduction of overall time spent on the computer, and an increase in family time. One aspect Jim likes about Allband high-speed internet is that “it [internet] is consistent, and extremely fast for uploads compared to what I was used to” and now he has come to be less tolerant with the speeds of other internet services from local competitors.

Jim has also been able to pursue higher education for the last five years while being able to work full time. His academic goals include earning at least a Master’s degree in Psychology and becoming a licensed marriage counselor. Jim stated that “this all would not have been possible without Allband high-speed internet”.
