Internet Beyond Email

Internet of Things

The Internet is one of the most important resources available to us today. It is integrated into almost every aspect of our lives and constantly continuing to improve our daily processes. With this resource, we are able to be more efficient, make wiser decisions and capitalize on opportunities.

How can the Internet impact your life?

Think of one question you had today. Internet gives us access to answers. How many ounces in a quart? How long will it take to travel to visit your sister? What is the quickest route? What can I use to substitute butter? What bank is offering the lowest interest rate? What’s the weather forecast this weekend? Which perennials don’t require much sunlight? What jokes are going to circulate in the office today from last night’s presidential debate? How do I play a C-chord on the ukulele? How can I cut back on energy usage this winter? What is that one movie Steve Martin is in…? And of course, what are the advantages of fiber optic over copper cable?

Research. Question. Investigate. Discover. Answers. Connect. Know-how. Instructions. Recipes. Tutorials. Step-by-Step. Maps. How-to. Top 10. Sales. News. Advice. Expertise. Jobs. Training. Knowledge. INFORMATION.

The Internet gives us access. At our fingertips, we can learn anything. What do you want to know? Just Google it.

Wireless Internet Solution Expansion Project

Construction to Begin as Network Growth Continues

Allband Multimedia has planned expansion to reach the residents of McCollum Lake and Crooked Lake areas in Curran, Michigan with a wireless Internet solution. The McCollum Lake and Crooked Lake areas have not been accessible to the Fiber to the Home technology Allband has been installing in the Northeast Michigan territory since 2005 because of unclear easement issues and impossible wetland ground conditions.

The dedicated Allband team has found a resolution for the seemingly impassable barriers preventing delivery of Internet and phone services to desired users. To answer the growing demand of residents reaching out and requesting access, Allband has engineered a wireless solution consisting of Fiber to Cambium access points, casting the wireless signal across the lakes.

Installation is set to begin Friday, May 22nd with activations beginning the first of June. Users will be able to enjoy up to 40 mbps download speeds and free installation. Allband provides services with no contracts and no hidden rates.

After nearly 10 years of connecting Northeastern Michigan with affordable high speed Fiber Internet and telephone services, Allband continues to expand it’s optical fiber network. The unique opportunity to serve the small, rural area drives the passion behind Allband’s mission to continue to facilitate economic growth and improve the quality of life of residents.

Planned System Maintenance Thursday August 28, 2014 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM

Planned System Maintenance Thursday August 28, 2014 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM

Wether it’s a Windows PC, an Apple device or even a blue ray player, most devices now a’days eventually need a health check and a software update. The same applies to the nifty equipment we use to provide Internet and telephone to you. The time has come again to perform some standard maintenance on our equipment. As usual we reserve this type of work during off-hours so it has the least amount of impact on our subscribers.

We will be performing planned system maintenance early Thursday morning which will impact both Allband Communications Cooperative and Allband Multimedia Phone and Internet customers. Maintenance will take place tomorrow (Thursday August 28th) between 12 AM and 6 AM EST. While the maintenance is being performed, Internet and Phone service may be intermittent.

Please feel free to contact the office 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (989) 369-9999 with any questions or concerns you may have.

Please note: if your Internet is not working when you wake up, don’t fret! Try power-cycling your router first (unplug the power cable from the router, wait 10 seconds and plug it back it in). DO NOT hit or hold down the Reset button, this is a big NO NO and we will have to re-provision the settings in the router. If that doesn’t work, give us a call so we can help.

Thank you Carl Travis for your feedback!

We received the below email from Mr. Travis.  Carl…we greatly appreciate the feedback!  Thank you for being a valued customer.

“I want to thank Trevor for the help in getting the glitches in my computer taken care of so I can connect back on to the internet. I would also like to thank Ron Siegel and all of the staff at Allband MultiMedia for bringing High speed Broadband internet to the Mikado area. They are looking to expand in the area and are making the efforts to do so. One thing I really appreciate about Allband is how they have been upfront about their progress, and even about the occasional setbacks and roadblocks that they’ve encountered in bringing Broadband to the northeast Michigan area. Thank you for what you’ve done, and for what you want to do to help this area move forward technologically. I look forward to seeing all you want to accomplish here.”
Sincerely Yours
Carl Travis
Mikado, Mi.

Service Outage 02-20-14

Allband is currently experiencing a service outage that is impacting both Internet and telephone connectivity. Your service may be intermittent at this time. The cause of the outage is related to wide-spread power issues from the inclement weather we are experiencing in the region. We hope to have services stabilized as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for the inconvenience.
