Dr. Thomas Muth was a much-loved and respected professor in the Michigan State University Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media. In collaboration with Ron Choura, Allband’s founders and MSU staff and students, Dr. Muth helped foster the unique idea that would one day become Allband and played an instrumental role in the initial development of the Cooperative. With his vast educational, legal, and business knowledge, Dr. Muth helped orchestrate the incubation of Allband, and through his work, demonstrated his passion for student access to a real-world career education, while simultaneously supporting the rural Michigan communities that suffered from the digital divide.
