Additional Phone Service Information

Backup Power During Outages

Phone service, including calls to 911, may be interrupted during a power outage because the equipment can’t operate without power. Many homeowners use a backup generator for occasional outages.

If you’d like another option, Allband has several backup battery solutions available for purchase.

Accessibility & Disability Services (7-1-1)

Allband Communications is proud to provide Michigan Relay services through a partnership with the Telecommunications Association of Michigan and Hamilton Relay.

Allband offers the following services for consumers with disabilities:

  • TTY (Text Telephone)
  • VCO (Voice Carry Over)
  • HCO (Hearing Carry Over)
  • DBS (Deaf-Blind Service)
  • STS (Speech-to-Speech)
  • Captioned Telephone (CapTel)
  • Voice

International calls are billed separately from your standard voice plan.

Porting Your Phone Number

Want to keep your current number?

Complete the port authorization form and include the first page of your current provider’s most recent phone bill.

The bill must clearly show

  • your name,
  • phone number,
  • address, and
  • account balance, and it must be less than 30 days old.

You can submit the form online or download the paper form.

The transfer takes about two weeks. During that time, keep your current phone service active and don’t submit any service changes to your current provider, or you could delay the transfer or lose your number.
